The Meridian Daybed Sofa is long, low and unusually deep — two oversized seat platforms with soft stacked backrests, floating on a slim recessed black base.

The backrests sit on opposite sides, so one end faces into the room and the other faces out. It works as a sofa, a daybed, or a divider in an open-plan space where a conventional couch would block the flow.

Handcrafted to order in our Pretoria workshop in six colourways.

  • Frame: Kiln-dried SA pine with plywood panelling
  • Seat filling: High-density 30kg/m³ foam with fibre wrap
  • Backrests: Low stacked slab cushions, foam filled
  • Suspension: Elasticated webbing
  • Upholstery: Bouclé — 100% polyester, textured loop weave
  • Base: Recessed black plinth with concealed floor glides, giving a floating look
  • Layout: Backrests on opposite sides — specify which end you want facing the room when ordering
  • Assembly: Delivered in sections and connected in the room

Care

  • Vacuum weekly with an upholstery attachment
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth — do not rub
  • Spot clean with mild soapy water and a soft cloth
  • Do not bleach or machine wash
  • Rotate and plump the seat cushions regularly so they wear evenly
  • Keep out of direct sunlight to prevent fading
