How Lay-By works.
Lay-By allows you to reserve your Luxe Living Interiors furniture and pay it off monthly before delivery or collection. It is designed for customers who want beautiful furniture without paying the full amount immediately.
Choose your piece
Select your couch, bed, pedestal, headboard, TV stand, or custom furniture piece online, in-store, or through WhatsApp.
Confirm your term
Items under R5000 are automatically calculated over 3 months. Items above R5000 may qualify for 3, 6, 9, or 12 months.
Pay monthly
Make your agreed monthly payments on time. Your Lay-By balance must be fully paid before the item can be released, collected, or delivered.
Receive your order
Once your Lay-By is fully paid and your item is ready, we arrange collection or delivery based on your location and final invoice.

Your Lay-By amount is calculated using the product price plus a term fee. The term fee is based on how long you choose to pay. The longer the term, the higher the fee percentage.
- 3 months = 3% term fee
- 6 months = 6% term fee
- 9 months = 9% term fee
- 12 months = 12% term fee

Payment terms
Your Lay-By agreement starts once your first payment has been received and confirmed.
- Items under R5000: 3 months only.
- Items above R5000: 3, 6, 9, or 12 months.
- Payments must be made according to the agreed schedule.
- Prices are locked once the Lay-By is accepted and the first payment is received.
Production rules
To protect both the customer and the business, custom production is normally only started once the Lay-By is fully paid.
- No item is released before full payment.
- Custom changes must be confirmed before production starts.
- Changes in fabric, size, colour, or design may change the final price.
- Early production may only happen if approved in writing.
Delivery and collection
Delivery or collection is only arranged once the Lay-By balance is fully settled.
- Delivery fees are not automatically included unless stated on your invoice.
- Delivery cost depends on your location.
- Orders outside Gauteng may require additional delivery time.
- The customer must confirm address and contact details before dispatch.
Late payments
If a payment is missed, Luxe Living Interiors may contact the customer to remind them of the outstanding amount.
- A reminder may be sent after 7 days overdue.
- A final warning may be sent if payment remains overdue.
- If payment is more than 30 days overdue, the Lay-By may be reviewed for cancellation.
- Customers should contact us early if they need help adjusting payment timing.
Order changes
Changes are only allowed before production, sourcing, or custom work has started.
- Colour changes may depend on fabric availability.
- Size changes may require a new quote.
- Design changes may extend the lead time.
- All changes must be confirmed in writing.
Important note
Lay-By is not a credit agreement. The item remains the property of Luxe Living Interiors until the full Lay-By balance is paid.
- No interest is charged as a credit facility.
- A term fee is added based on the selected payment period.
- Full payment is required before release.
- All amounts must reflect on our side before release or delivery.
If you need to cancel your Lay-By.
A customer may request to cancel a Lay-By before the order is fully paid. The request must be sent in writing through WhatsApp, email, or another recordable communication channel.
If production has not started, the customer may receive a refund of the amount paid, less a cancellation/admin fee equal to 10% of the total amount already paid, plus any unrecoverable third-party transaction charges where applicable.
If early production, material sourcing, or custom work has already started by written approval, Luxe Living Interiors may review the order stage and deduct reasonable costs already incurred before calculating the refundable amount.

Can I receive my item before finishing the Lay-By?
No. The item can only be released, collected, or delivered once the Lay-By balance has been paid in full and the payment reflects on our side.
Can I choose 6, 9, or 12 months for any product?
No. Items of R5,000 or less are automatically calculated over 3 months. Items above R5,000 may qualify for 3, 6, 9, or 12 months.
What happens if I miss a payment?
Please contact us as soon as possible. A reminder may be sent after the payment becomes overdue. If payment remains overdue for an extended period, the Lay-By may be reviewed for cancellation according to the policy.
Can I cancel my Lay-By?
Yes. If production has not started, the refund estimate is calculated as amount paid so far minus a 10% cancellation/admin fee of the amount paid, minus any applicable unrecoverable payment charges.
Will my Lay-By price change?
Your product price is locked once the Lay-By agreement is accepted and the first payment is received. However, changes to fabric, size, design, delivery address, or custom specifications may change the final invoice.
When does production start?
Production normally starts after the Lay-By has been fully paid, unless early production is approved in writing. This protects both the customer and Luxe Living Interiors.
